The Man of God and the Son of Darwin

Darwin NewsAs part of the Writers and Readers programme in the Otago Festival of the Arts, I am to pair up with well-known theologian, Lloyd Geering, to examine “God and Darwin“. It is to be a critical and, I hope, insightful look at evolution and intelligent design. The date is Saturday 14th October and tickets, I am told, are likely to go fast. Personally, I was hoping they would bill it as The Two Lloyds after the British sitcom The Two Ronnies. That way, in a parody of Ronnie Barker and Ronnie Corbett’s parting line, I could be guaranteed to have the last word: “It’s good night from me, and it’s good night from him.”*
* I apologize to all those unfamiliar with this show, for whom this must seem like a nonsense.Tags:Lloyd Geering, Lloyd Spencer Davis, Otago Festival of the Arts, Inelligent design, Charles Darwin, God, The Two Ronnies
